So, they decided that I need to go places for work...go see where they actually do the work that I am "in charge of". This involves going to Kings Bay, GA. I won't make you read to the end, King's Bay Georgia sucks more dick than a two dollar hooker on pay day...
SO, to get to King's bay you have to fly into Jacksonville FA....and as the 90000 signs in the Jacksonville Airport tell you, they are having the superbowl there next year...does that help me.. Fuck no... ohhh, the airport is also filled with Goddamn tourists that are going to happy fun places...places not in GA...
But before we even get to Jacksonville we have to go though Airport security... my luggage contained fun things like a hardhat, steel toed boots, flashlight, inspection mirrors and various other tools of the engineering trade...guess who got thier luggage searched...of course once the dumb security bitch saw my hard hat said "Nuclear Engineer" she did the standard "Wow, you must be smart" and left me alone...
So, from Jacksonville you have to drive North...about 45 minutes...to get to Kings bay. Search Kings bay on Google, you find the Trident refit facility and nothing else...yup...that's about it.
So, a shitty town with nothing to do...but I came here to work...DAMN STRAIT.
So, we go to the base...and our security papers never showed up! hoorraayy...now we have to wait for the security to call our security and so on and so on...eventually we get our passes...now we can go in!
Of course, we get in and go to were the stuff we need to look at is...we look at it, exciting, and leave...about an hour and a half...now back to the hotel...
we spent about 4 hours in the hotel before dinner... we all have seperate rooms, we have basic cable...there is nothing else to do...so dull, so boring..
So we go out to dinner...all you can eat chicken wings!!! The high point! Ohh did I mention we had chicken for lunch to...go variety! The chicken wings were not to bad, the beer selection passable... they did have a kick ASS shuffle board table... the super old school style... but alas... no one wanted to play me...
after the dinner it's back to the hotel....
The next day... it's back to work...and what did 4 engineers fly to GA for.. what you ask?
We watched them fill up a big metal tank with water, to see if the level sensors worked...then we watched them drain it... FUCK YEA... it was over in about 4 hours or so...and then... BACK TO VA! The most exciting trip ever!
