It seems to me that it is high time that Varms.Net announces whom it favors for the democratic nomination for president. And since it seems like I am the only person that is going to do it, well, I’m going to do it then. Not that this is an easy task mind you. There are seven candidates right now that are running and I have tirelessly thought about this for that last 10 or 15 minutes. I haven’t figured out who should get it yet, but I have figured out who isn’t going to get it.

General Wesley Clark (ret.):

is not going to get the nomination. This is a man that admits to never really ever technically being a democrat until right now, though he did like Bill Clinton. Especially since under Clinton he had a lot of sway over military policy and got to blow up people and stuff. Clark is not going to get the endorsement because I don’t think that anyone that has ever fought in a war should get an endorsement. It seems to me that most of the problems in the world today involve people killing other people and war is just a legal form of killing someone else. I, personally, am sick of killing people so no one that has ever taken part in that should be allowed to be president. More on that later.

But as for Clark this is a man that has made no concrete statements as to why he should be elected president aside from the fact that he was a very high ranking member of the army and that he can beat Bush. While I do appreciate the logistical talent that it must of have taken to oversee all the NATO forces during the Bosnian campaign, I don’t think that automatically means that he can run the government and as I said, that disqualifies him from the nomination. As for beating Bush, who cares, I don’t know that we would notice the difference.

John Kerry (D-Mass.)

Is not going to get the nomination. He is disqualified summarily because he fought in a war and that takes you automatically out of the running. But there is more to it then that. This is a man that has made a reputation of doing nothing that does not serve to further his own career. This is also the same man that has the emotional variation of a piece of cauliflower. He never seems excited, disturbed, unhappy, or really even alive. Just always somewhat dour about what is going on around him.

As for the war disqualification, I’m going to elaborate a little further in this specific case. In Kerry we find that we have the perfect blending of all the things that can be good about war. Here is a man that served his country in the most unpopular war in recent memory, he was decorated for what where heroic actions under fire, came home, renounced the war and became a US Senator. Wow. I don’t want to question any of those things. He deserves respect and possibly admiration. However, I think that he is cheapening all of that in his bid for the nomination. He talks of how he threw away the medals he was awarded, but yet shows himself as a young officer in army fatigues in commercials. Sorry, you can’t both brag about and distance yourself from this. I think I may have granted him a waiver from the no war clause, but he is trying to capitalize on that and therefore is not trustworthy with the military might wielded by that president.

Gov. Howard Dean

Is not going to get the nomination. I actually like this man and would happily vote for him. I think that he is a good human being and that perhaps we should insist that all politicians serve as pediatricians for a bit, which would be bad without the necessary training, so forget about that one. I think that he personally cares about this country and would likely do a very good job as president. But, there is no way that he is going to get my nomination.

First off, there is no way in hell that he is going to elected. Sure, he’s pissed and that speaks to a lot of Americans. However, he is really human. He shows strain, he shows far too much emotion, he tends to get swept up in the spirit of the moment, he utters forth inhuman screams of passion, he presided over a state that let gay marriage happen. These all completely remove him from the spectrum of nationwide acceptance. I also think that he believes he can do without “special interest” groups. The fact is that America is run by “special interest” groups and there is no way in hell to do anything about them aside from trying to temper their effectiveness.

The rest of them

Don’t even deserve the time to be discussed. Edwards may seem to be the best of this lot and may wind up winning (doubtful), but I don’t care. They will all be lumped in together.

Lieberman:

You may well think that I am a horrible evil bigot, but a Jew will not be elected President. This country still harbors suspicion about the Jews, thinks they would make us an open target for terrorists, and would sell us out in the middle east. He’s fucked.

Edwards:

Hasn’t even served a full term in the Senate. Bush will shout him down as a newcomer that cannot handle the reins of the country at this specific time. Not a chance

Kucinich:

Who? That’s about right. Seems like a nice guy, probably do a good job. Unfortunately, no one knows of him and he did a commercial to a rap song wherein he tries to both rap and “get down wit it.

Sharpton:

He almost got the nod. Come on, this is a guy that is personal friends with James Brown. More then that, James Brown fucking set up his hairstyle. This is one pimp motherfucker and would be the Shaft in the white house. Plus, he can preach. Amen. But back to reality, no one would vote for him.

Who else is there?

Fucked if I know, but there has got to be someone better. I hear people say that anyone would be better then Bush and that is about right. This guy has fucked up about as much as you can and will only get worse should he be reelected, but he will be. Why? Because support is so divided among the people that want to get rid of him and there are more then enough people that think he is doing a good job, so he’ll win. It doesn’t matter who he runs against.
